WORLDS BIGGEST COFFEE MORNING
Macmillan Cancer Support improves the lives of people affected by cancer. One in three people will get cancer while two million people are already living with it. As treatments improve, more and more people are living with cancer. This means they need more than medical help, they also need practical, emotional and financial support which Macmillan Cancer Support provides.
World’s Biggest Coffee Morning
- World's Biggest Coffee Morning is Macmillan's flagship fundraising event
- Last year the event raised £7.5 million
- This year the aim is to break past the £8 million mark
- The event will take place on 26 September 2008
Below is a short list of what money enables Macmillan to buy:
- £1 will ensure one more person receives leaflets giving them information on their cancer and where they can get support
- £40 can help a cancer support group hold their first meeting
- £184 could pay for a Macmillan nurse for a working day
Our flagship fundraising event last year saw over 50,000 people hold a coffee morning to help people living with cancer. Together with their friends, families and colleagues they raised an incredible £7.5 million!
This year we're aiming to raise £8.5 million to help support more people living with cancer.
It's as easy as putting the kettle on…Simply get friends, family or colleagues together. At home, at work, at school, at a parent and toddler group – anywhere you like, and ask them to make a donation for the coffee they drink and the cake they eat. What could be easier?
