Give them your old fairy liquid bottles as water guns.

Roger's Top Tip: (thanks to his dad!): Take them to the beach when it's raining, everything is closed so you spend no money and they have more fun because they can build better sand castles with wet sand.

Send them to the grandparents and let them worry about it!

I always find the old ‘go and make your dad a cup of tea and a sandwich' occupies them for quarter of an hour and it's interesting to see what they come back with!
